Giving Back to the Community While Supporting Local Businesses
At the heart of every successful business lies a responsibility that extends beyond daily operations. As a transportation provider serving inbound Japanese group and leisure travellers, airline crews, and China student groups visiting Singapore, we believe that our role in society goes beyond moving people from one destination to another. We are equally committed to creating positive social impact and contributing to a more caring and sustainable community.
On 31 August 2026, our team came together for a meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Food Donation Drive, an initiative that reflected our company’s values of compassion, sustainability, and community engagement.
Supporting Local, Creating Social Impact
Our CSR journey began at a humble provision shop in Hougang – He Ji Fa Supermarket, owned and operated by an elderly local businessman. Rather than sourcing supplies from large retail chains, we intentionally chose to purchase our donation items from a neighbourhood business.
This decision was guided by our sustainability philosophy. By supporting a local enterprise, we not only obtained essential food supplies for our charitable efforts but also contributed to the livelihood of a small business owner who has been serving the community for many years.
Sustainability is often associated with environmental responsibility, but for us, it also means supporting local communities, strengthening social connections, and creating positive economic impact wherever possible.
At 11:45 a.m., our team collected the food supplies and embarked on our journey to deliver them to two nursing homes in Singapore.
Spreading Care at Grace Lodge Nursing Home
Our first stop was Grace Lodge Nursing Home, a charitable nursing home that provides shelter, nursing care, medical assistance, therapy services, and daily support for elderly residents and individuals with disabilities.
Grace Lodge is affiliated with Singapore Buddhist Welfare Services (SBWS), a charitable organisation dedicated to serving the vulnerable and needy members of society. The home’s mission is centred on ensuring that residents receive compassionate care and can age with dignity, respect, and comfort.
As we handed over the donated food supplies, we were reminded of the important work carried out by organisations like Grace Lodge every day. Their dedication to caring for residents goes far beyond meeting physical needs; they create an environment where individuals can continue to experience dignity, companionship, and a sense of belonging.
Although our contribution may seem modest, we hope that it helps support the residents and caregivers who tirelessly devote themselves to improving the quality of life of those under their care.
Continuing the Journey at Saint Theresa’s Home
Following our visit to Grace Lodge, we continued our journey to Saint Theresa’s Home, where the remaining food supplies were delivered.
Established on a long-standing tradition of caring for seniors since 1935, Saint Theresa’s Home provides comprehensive nursing care, rehabilitation services, and holistic support to elderly residents. Guided by values of love, respect, compassion, and service, the home strives to create a nurturing environment where residents can receive the care they need while maintaining their dignity and well-being.
The dedication displayed by the caregivers and staff was truly inspiring. Behind every resident is a story, and behind every act of care is a community of people working tirelessly to ensure that our seniors receive the support and respect they deserve.
Our visit served as a powerful reminder that caring for the elderly is a shared responsibility, and every contribution, no matter how small, can make a meaningful difference.
More Than a Donation
While food donations were the focus of this initiative, the true value of the day extended far beyond the supplies we delivered.
The CSR Food Donation Drive allowed us to:
